My deepest condolences to Marilyn’s family. I got to know her over the last few years while visiting Ivey Terrace. We played “Big Word/Little Word” together and I was always amazed at the quantity and quality of the words she could find, just by sight! I have to write down words to figure them out, but not Marilyn - she was like a dictionary!!!
She was always smiling and pleasant and clearly had a deep sense of joy.
She will be missed by all.

Our hearts and prayers are with Marilyn's family with her passing. I remember Marilyn was always so friendly, just like her parents. May you find much strength from your memories in the days ahead!

Dear Marilyn was greeted with open arms into heaven just this past Thursday. Back in January Marilyn had sent me a private message wanting to be friends. In childhood I only remember Marilyn as the little girl with the beautiful light red hair who lived on the west side. She was younger than me so we only knew of each other growing up. I felt honoured to have gotten to communicate with Marilyn in these last four months of her life through Messenger. In those few months Marilyn sent me sweet hug messages and lovely Christian song videos. In April she told me more about herself : how she was in a nursing home with MS which brought with it severe complications and how she knew my Mom,Sara, would totally understand how she was looking forward to dying due to these physical problems. But Marilyn had a really strong faith in God and how He has a wonderful plan for us. Through her messages she shared this beautiful faith and her awesome sense of humour! In turn I shared Iona Church Services with her by video as well as Rev. Derek Ellsworth's beautiful services and last but not least John Cameron’s videos of him singing hymns to which she responded by saying”Wouldn’t Stanley and Ruth be proud of his faith.”Actually the last video of John Cameron I sent was “Sweet Hour of Prayer”. Sunday was the last time we communicated by Messenger. We tried to FaceTime but she couldn’t hear me but I heard her lovely voice say “Barb”. I was so blessed to have gotten to share this time together with her which was an absolute gift. Love and prayers of comfort to the family!

I was shocked and saddened to read of Marilyns passing. When I would go to visit my father at Iveys Terrace she was always a pleasant and welcoming face. Marilyn was also willing to take on the job of bingo caller in a moment's notice. Her beautiful granddaughters would come to visit her and we're not only a treat for Marilyn, but was always a bright spot in my Father's day too. Sincere sympathy to her daughters and all the rest of her extended family on behalf of the Alexander family who got to know Marilyn quite well over the past two years.
