My condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of working with Marion here at Inuvik Hospital starting in 2012. Although we did not cross paths very often, in my interactions she was always kind and professional. She will be dearly missed.

My heart was truly saddened to hear of Marion's passing. It was a privilege to work daily with this amazing woman and dear friend.
She was the epitome of professionalism, caring, and compassion.
She loved to share stories of her beloved family and friends . Lynn and Mary, you and your families meant the world to Marion.
Inuvik and the North were most fortunate to avail of Marion's generous spirit and her wealth of knowledge.
Yet, her heart would forever be drawn back to her beloved Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
I am so grateful to have known Marion as my friend.
God Bless
Lynnette and Denis Murphy

I had the privilege of working in Marion’s Department in Inuvik for 3 Mammography locums beginning in 2012. The first occasion was very short notice as the planned locum had a family emergency and luckily I was able to secure time off from St Clares Hospital, NL. I was apprehensive as this was January and unfamiliar land to me but I need not worry. Even though the temperature was -49 C when I walked across the tarmac, the generosity and warmth I experienced in the next 2 weeks was second to none. Marion took one look at my winter coat and said “ that will not do” and made sure I had an appropriate one for the north. My apartment was stocked with food that I liked and on the table was a goody bag with so many trinkets and gifts. She was so organized and pleasant and it was easy to see that the Diagnostic Imaging Department was her life.
I am so sorry to learn of her passing and thought of her often over the past number of years. I remember she often mentioned her cottage in PEI and her sisters and nieces. Condolences to her family at this sad time. She was an angel.

I worked with Marion from 2008-2009 when my husband got a job in Inuvik. As an X-ray tech, I was able to take some of the workload off her shoulders so she could focus on ultrasound and managing the department. She amazed me and I have often thought of her and how irreplaceable she would be in Inuvik. The efforts she would take to make a locum technologist comfortable... stocking their room with groceries and supplies before their arrival. Marion always seemed to be working. Even when I would come in on a callback, she would often still be there. She had a level of dedication that few could match. But, I do know she loved her vacation time as well, which was always a trip to PEI. She spoke fondly and warmly about her family there.
Marion inspired me to go back to school and train in Ultrasound. She told me I had the ideal personality for it and it would be a perfect fit. She was so entirely right. Thank you, Marion. We may have lost touch over the years, but the impression you left, will always be with me.

So sorry that Alzheimer’s stole a well deserved retirement from Marion. Worked for many years in Inuvik with Marion. I always got a laugh that she did not want to know if X-rays were required when she was on call ahead of time. She would say” No don’t tell me, just call in the morning”. When I left a Inuvik in 1999, Marion moved into my row house owned by Dr Chuck McNeil and when we returned in 2003 to adopt Hannah, she offed us her house as she was away those days. Always generous.
Our thoughts are with you and so sorry for your loss but I am glad she didn’t linger as she would not have liked that. Always very private.

My deepest condolences to Marion’s family. I met Marion when she recruited me to do Mammography in Inuvik. I did 7 locums there in the early 2000’s, and each time Marion was extremely generous in making me feel welcome and appreciated. She would even stock the kitchen in the hospital residence with my favorite foods! She had an amazing work ethic that I greatly admired. She seemed tireless in her energy to serve the people of Inuvik with her Diagnostic Imaging skills. Through her eyes, I fell in love with the North too. She will be missed.
