We are so very sadden to lose such a beautiful neighbor. We’ve been a cross the river from Vernon for 21 years and have had great conversations almost weekly as he finished his runs or us out walking by his place. He always made time to have conversations with our son Jordan who can talk the ear off anyone and Vernon would indulge in those times . He will be miss dearly over here across the river knowing he got his last run in brings peace to me because he always told me after he got his pace maker if I die running I die doing what I love best with nature surrounding me. RIP our dear friend . Karen ,Len and family.

So saddened by the sudden loss of Vernon and offer sincere condolences to his family. We'll miss Vernon's presence on our annual Liscomb Fishing Trip or at the camp and cottage for our hunting escapades. Vernon was a huge part of our outdoor activities and his youthfulness kept us all young at heart. We'll be sure to have some cheers and sociables to honor Vernon and always feel he's part of our outdoor adventures. Rusty & Mary

David, Joseph and Johnny and families: Sending heartfelt condolences on the passing of Vernon. A wonderful man. I have great memories of when we were all younger. I would bump into your father over the years and, always, an intellectual conversation with his infectious smile. I hope memories of your Dad bring you all some comfort. Sincerely, Dawn Hynes xo

It was with great shock and sadness we heard of the passing of Vernon. He remained a central figure in a very close circle of friends and there was always a cheer when he finally walked in the door of the camp. His presence at our hunting or fishing activities added to the joy we all feel in being with great friends in the great outdoors. I will especially miss seeing him and my father, Gerry, coming around the corner whether it was in the truck or in the canoe. Although the loss we feel is great, I cannot express the sorrow I have for the family. May the memories of the time shared ease you through this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Craig Mercer
