Obituary of Lyla Roy MacIntosh

Lyla Roy MacIntosh, 92 of Stellarton, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2020. Born in Westville, Lyla was a daughter of the late Archibald and Margaret (Wood) Hubley.
Lyla graduated from Teacher’s College and began a 16-year teaching career, in Dartmouth, as well as schools in Pictou County. After marrying Roddie, she left teaching to focus her time as a loving, stay at home mother to their two boys.
She was a resident of Stellarton for 58 years, during which time she was a member of Sharon St. John Church, where she was active in the church group for many years; a member of the local Rebecca lodge, the Stellarites Dance group and the CN Bowling League.
Lyla is survived by her sons Glenn (Angela), Stellarton and Ian (Krista), Stellarton; grandchildren Dylan, Ethan, Brooke and Evan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband C. Roderick MacIntosh; sisters Berna Kearns, Lois Baillie, twin sister Willa Aggett and Margaret Armstrong. A committal service will take place in Hopewell Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Lyla can be made to the Alzheimer Society, Glen Haven Manor, or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
