Florence "Marie" Edwards (nee Aikens), Plymouth, Pictou County passed away peacefully April 4, 2020 in Aberdeen hospital with her children by her side.
Born in New Glasgow she was the daughter of Leitha (Blair) and the late Harold "Buddy" Aikens and lovingly raised by her grandparents, the late Ross and Florence Aikens.
Marie attended EPHS and Pictou County Vocational School. Marie worked various jobs throughout her life before choosing the career as CCA, which became her true passion. She carried herself with pride and dignity as she overcame many struggles in her life. After the loss of her husband, William Edwards, she occupied herself with family, conversation, grabbing a coffee and cruising the clearance racks at giant tiger and spoiling her 4 furbabies.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberley Jewell, Trenton and her son Scott McInnis, Stellarton; her grandchildren and great- grandchildren and extended family, her mother Leitha, a sister Phyllis, brothers Harold and Keith.
Besides her loving husband Will, father Buddy Aikens and grandparents Florence and Ross Aikens and Nellie and Frank Blair, she was predeceased by grand daughter Emily Jewell.
A celebration of Marie’s Life and burial service will be held at a later date.
