Obituary of Jean Chisholm

Helen “Jean” Chisholm age 91 of Kensington Ave., Stellarton passed away at home on March 3, 2020. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Whitfield and Harriett (MacNeil) Munro. Jean graduated from Stellarton High School; she then went on to the Aberdeen School of Nursing graduating in 1950. She was the Past President of the Aberdeen Hospital Alumnae, Past President of the Stellarton Curling Club, former member of the Abercrombie Golf Club, the Housewives Bowling League and a retired member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Stellarton Fire Department. Jean was a member of Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. She is survived by daughter Wendy (Brian) MacRae, Truro; sons George (Vivian) Chisholm, Eureka; Brent (Joann) Chisholm, Barrie , Ontario; grandchildren Ben, Michael, Johnathon, Brandon, Baker, Noah,, Kory Tia and Robyn; great-granddaughters Sydney Janelle, Rayn, Lyra and Alyana; great-grandson Aryan; brother Sandy (Joan) Munro, Halifax; sister Claire Young, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dunc” Chisholm, daughter Karen VanKessell, son Richard Chisholm, grandson Joshua Chisholm and sisters Molly Munro and Jerry Guthro. Her remains will rest in the Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton from 1 pm on Friday, March 6 2020 until 2:45 pm from where funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Rev. Karen Ross officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date.
