Obituary of Thomas Charles DeWolfe

Thomas Charles Henry DeWolfe of New Glasgow passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family on February 26, 2020 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after a courageous and hard fought battle with cardiovascular disease. Tom will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who has had the privilege to know him. He was the loving father of David (Liane), Heather (Niall Savage) and Paul (Marlene) DeWolfe; a devoted grandfather and cherished great-grandfather. He was the son of Tom DeWolfe (Sr) and Jessie (McKay) DeWolfe; and is survived by his brother Alan (Judy) DeWolfe. He was pre-deceased by his wife Doris Marie (White) DeWolfe and his son James Brian DeWolfe in infancy. Tom (or Tommy) will always be remembered by his community as an astute businessman and entrepreneur, a tireless volunteer and friend and mentor to whomever sought his friendship and counsel. Beyond his passion for friends and family Tom would spend endless hours tending to his boat as well as his boating community family. Never straying too far from the water or from the home he shared with the love of his life Doris, with whom he now rests in her warm and loving embrace. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Monday in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home 256 King St. ,New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at 2 P.M. from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Burial will take place at a later date in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Flowers welcome or donations in memory of Tom can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
