So sorry, I only knew Arnold a few years while sharing stories at Tim’s. I wished we had been friends longer. He will be missed ... “ Careful Arnold when plowing those Pearly Gates, you don’t want to lose that contract “

My condolences to all of Arnold’s dearly loved family. The last time I saw Arnold he was out ploughing my driveway - Pieter was driving - not a good sign. So glad I went out for a brief chat. Arnold always had time for a chat! So altho I didn’t know his family I felt as if I did. He always mentioned Debbie & enjoyed talking about his latest family news. I will miss him. Take good care of each other

Arnold and I became best friends through attending the same churches, and eventually attending Vocational School in the same two years earning our carpentry wings, before I and my family moved to Ontario. Many fond memories of those early years. Sincere condolences to all the family. He will indeed be missed.

Claude and I have known Arnold since our days at Vocational School. I don’t believe I ever saw him angry. He always had that great smile on his face that made you feel instantly welcome, no matter what the circumstance. To say that Arnold Dykstra was a good man and will be sorely missed would be a huge understatement. Arnold was Arnold. He was well loved and will be terribly missed. Condolences to all the family.

I’m very sorry to hear of Arnold’s passing! He was a great man and he will be missed dearly. I remember the first time I met him his son Pieter was working on the building for the Wolf’s Den down on Pictou Landing reserve and at the same time my father’s company( Tupper’s Trucking) was working on putting in forms for the parking lot. At the time I was working with my dad for the summer and Arnold had come to the job site to check in on how things were going. He came over to talk to me and I’m normally shy around people I don’t know but the moment Arnold started talking I felt like I had known him for my whole life. We talked for a good long time that day. He was very soft spoken, had a positive attitude, and was very hardworking man but nothing meant more to him then his family. On behalf of all of us at Tupper’s Trucking I would like to pass condolences on to the whole Dykstra family at this very difficult time! Hugs being sent from Kennedy Tupper

We are so sorry to hear of Arnold losing his brave battle with cancer. Arnold always made time disappear when he stopped to chat, it was if you'd seen him everyday, unfortunately it wasn't as often as we would have liked. The Harbour has lost another Son.

I will miss that big smile you always had when you came into Tim Hortons. I always enjoyed our chats and telling you no sorry you can't have that or we are sold out, so you have to take what i give you. You light up the place when you came in alone or with the family. I always had a good laugh when you and the wife would stop by in the drive-thru. I still can't believe that you are no longer with us. Your memory will live on with all of us at Tims and though the family. Rest in peace young fella.
