Obituary of Roy Augusta Rogers

Roy Augusta Rogers age 83 of Stellarton formerly of Thorburn passed away on Jan. 8, 2020 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Thorburn he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Boutlier) Rogers. Roy worked at the MacBean mine and at Hawker Siddeley. He later worked as a crosswalk guard for many years. He was a member of the former St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Thorburn. He is survived by brother Jerry Rogers, Thorburn; and sisters Kathleen Vacheresse, Thorburn; Eleanor Wagg, Halifax; sisters-in-law Jeanette Rogers, Thorburn; Dorothy Rogers, Westville; many nieces and nephews; his partners children Richard Allard, Margie Koszkulics and Cindy MacNeil. He was predeceased by his longtime partner Chris Allard, brothers Frank, Harry, Ted, sisters Pat, Tina, Virginia and Rita. Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service held at a later date in the St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn.
