Obituary of Vernon Francis Hoare

Vernon  Francis Hoare age 75 of Valley View Villa, Riverton formerly of Stellarton and Westville  passed away on November 18, 2019 in the Villa. Born in New Glasgow he was the son of the late Gregory and Patricia (MacDonald) Hoare.

Vernon was a resident of Stellarton most of his life. He had gone to Vocational School and took up carpentry and went to work as a carpenter  and was employed  at  Hawker Siddeley for 10 years. He was a member of our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church where he was the caretaker for some time. Vernon was a former member of the Stellarton Lions Club, and was a blood donor for over 50 years. He was an avid walker and a huge fan of the Montreal Canadians

He is survived by his wife of 52 years  the former Mary Jean Doucette, daughters Patti Ann MacDonald, Stellarton; Angela (Kevin) Doucette, St. Stephen, NB; Darlene (Stephen) Alexander, Abercrombie; son Tommy (April) Hoare, New Glasgow. 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother Gregory(Kaaren), Trenton; sisters Peggy O’Brien, New Glasgow; Kathleen Hoare, B.C., Rose (Hari) Krishan, Halifax; Patti (Francis) Long, New Glasgow; Brenda (Dave) MacEachern  ,Greenhill

He was predeceased by  a daughter Heather in infancy , grandson Brandon and a brother Tommy in infancy.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Valley View Villa, Parkinson Society or a charity of your choice.
