Obituary of Dwight Kenneth Campbell
Dwight Kenneth Campbell, age 65, of Stellarton, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2019 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in New Glasgow he was the son of the late Kenneth and Anna (Watters) Campbell.
Dwight was a resident of Stellarton all his life where he owned and operated Dwight’s Service Station. He was a member of the Stellarton Fire Department for 47 years and had served as Chief for the past 11 years. He was also an associate member of the RCAF No. 110 Wing, Stellarton. Dwight loved the time spent at his camp and loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Susan (Reekie); daughter Amy (Calvin) Garneau; son Jarret, grandchildren Autumn and Lucas Garneau; sisters Lynn (Fred) Rockey, Claire (Bob) MacFarlane; brothers Brian (Heather) Campbell, Harvey (Michelle MacDonald) Campbell; sister-in-law Amanda Reekie-Wong; brother-in-law Steve Reekie and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Catherine Ann Campbell. He was also predeceased by a sister Linda Claire in infancy and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Lonnie and Evelyn Reekie as well as paternal and maternal grandparents.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, October 18 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Duff Pioneer Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Stellarton Fire Hall.
