Raymond Joseph MacDougall, 87, of Cameron Avenue, New Glasgow, passed away, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Aberdeen Hospital with his loving daughter by his side.

 

Born March 21, 1932 in New Glasgow, NS he was the son of the late Murdock and Edith (Bubar) MacDougall. Ray followed his father's footsteps and worked as an operator for CN Rail retiring with 40 years service. He was married for 36 years to his one and only blind date, Joyce (Porter). He enjoyed collecting model trains, fixing televisions and washing everyone's car that settled in his driveway. Special attention was given to all Fords. Ray was a quiet, sweet and gentle man with a silliness that didn't go unnoticed. His greatest love was his family.

 

Ray is survived by his daughter Heather (MacDougall), grandson Jorden, nephew Brian, nieces Carol, Shan, Tracy, Michelle, great nieces and nephews and cousins both MacDougall and Bubar.

 

He was predeceased by his wife Joyce, sisters Virginia, Mary Alice (Al) Pitts, Therese (Gerry) Powers.

 

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, King Street, New Glasgow with Father Tom MacNeil presiding. A reception will follow in the funeral home.   

Burial will take place in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery at a later date.
