Obituary of Bernice MacLeod

Bernice MacLeod age 88, of Valley View Villa, Riverton formerly of MacLellan’s Brook, passed away on September 13, 2019 in the Villa. Born in Bathurst, NB she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Beulah (Cooling) Bateman.

Bernice had moved to Toronto at as young woman where she met and married her husband Alex. They spent their working years in Toronto and after retirement returned to Pictou County residing in MacLellan’s Brook. Bernice was a very kind person who always had a smile and a story to tell.

She is survived by her brothers Stewart (Evelyn) Bateman, Lyons Brook; Dean Bateman, B.C.; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Alex MacLeod, brothers Graydon and Ronnie; sisters Sadie, Myrtle and Connie.

A private family graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.  Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
