Bridget Murdena MacGillivray (MacKenzie)

 

Stellarton – Bridget Murdena MacGillivray (MacKenzie), 89, passed away August 11, 2019 peacefully with family by her side at Maritime Odd Fellows Home, Pictou.  Born in New Glasgow, N.S., Murdena was a daughter of the late Murdock and Emma (Marsh) MacKenzie. 

Murdena was predeceased by her husband, Harold MacGillivray, granddaughter, Emma Locke and several sisters and brothers: (Mary, Genny, Margie, Steve, John, Bob, Leo, and Adrian).

Surviving are her children, Genevieve “Genny” and her husband Clayton Locke and their son Michael,  Sydney; Harold MacGillivray “Bo”,  Thorburn; Betty and her husband Allan MacGillivray and their children Allan, Gina and her son Thomas, Stellarton; Marsha and her husband Larry Flysak and their children  Keith (Amy) and Colin, Saskatoon;  sisters, Betty (Doug) Burns, Ontario; Marie Belland, Antigonish; Edie (Merrell), Vancouver;  sisters-in-law, Alison MacKenzie, Halifax; Anne MacGillivray, New Glasgow; Carolyn White, Stellarton; brother-in-law Raymond Raniere, Moncton; several nieces and nephews.

Murdena was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.   Cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date. 

The family would like to thank all those who helped with Murdena’s care over the past several years. Special thanks to Maritime Odd Fellows Home including their medical and support staff and the residents.  Mom was fortunate to have had great care as well as their love and supports. They were so good at tucking her in that she asked to be tucked in for her afternoon naps.
