Obituary of Ruby Luddington
Ruby Nenita Luddington – of Ivey’s Terrace, Trenton formerly of Stellarton passed away on June 17, 2019 in Ivey’s Terrace. Born in Dort’s Cove, NS she was a daughter of the late Lew and Alice Dort.
Ruby was married and lived in New Harbour for several years, moving to Pictou County in 1950. She lived in Stellarton before moving to Glen Haven Manor, and then to Ivey’s Terrace in Trenton. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton. Mom loved country music, making crafts and baking for her family, she loved to decorate and enjoyed the Christmas season. Her daughters and family were her life.
She is survived by her daughters Lois (Murray) Lavender, Waterside; Shirley (Blaine) Yerxa, Eden Lake; Brenda (Brad) Murray, Kings Head; Ruth Trefry, Westville; Angela Luddington, Stellarton; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Minnie Jamieson, Antigonish; Rita Maguire, Truro; Mabel Bond, Guysborough; and Sylvia Jamieson, Peas Brook and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Avard, sisters Hazel Richards, Violet Bardell, brothers Wilbur, Aubrey and Fred.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until 12:45 with a memorial service held at 1 pm on Monday, June 24, 2019 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Darlene Jewers officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
