Nancy Jean Spanks age 68 of Woodbine Crest Senior Citizens, New Glasgow passed away May 2, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late James Lloyd and Margaret Mary (Forrestal) Spanks.
Nancy was a resident of New Glasgow most of her life. She was an associate member of Branch No. 34 Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow. She had worked in homecare as a PCW for several years.
She is survived by her children Margaret Leese, Harvey Lochead, Alex (Kim) Lochead, Wayne (Naomi) Spanks; 13 grandchildren; brothers Kenny Spanks, Gary Spanks, Barry Spanks.
She was predeceased by a son Preston Lochead, brother Dennis Spanks and half brothers Billy and Jimmy Dean.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. From where funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2019 with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be in the Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow. Donations in her memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
Royal Canadian Legion Members will meet at the funeral home at 6:00 pm on Saturday to conduct their tribute service.
