Obituary of Gordon Thomas Tibbo

Tibbo, Gordon Thomas, 87 of the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish formerly of New Glasgow passed away peacefully March 23, 2019 in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, with his family by his side. Born in Port Felix, NS December 2, 1931h e was the son of the late Neil and Mary (Emmons). He is survived by his son Donnie (Crystal) Yukon, NWT, Daughters; Barb (Marguerite White) New Glasgow, and Jo Ann, Alberta. He is also survived by his granddaughter Ashley Patterson (Halifax), brothers; Basil (Jean), Riverton, Douglas (Ronalda), Glen Haven Manor, sisters; Genesta Hushard, Toronto, Edith, Halifax, many nieces and nephews, and his companion Ethel Lays (Antigonish). Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his Wife of 54 years Doris (Savoie), Sisters; Eileen, and Garnet (Stephen) David, Brother Neil and special Niece Shirley MacDonald. In Gordon’s younger years he worked at the Lismore Seafood Factory, where he met his future wife Doris. Gordon went on to work construction for many years, drive taxi, and retired from the maintenance department at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow. In his later years you would always find Gordon scootin’ the streets of New Glasgow on his scooter, and with his friends at McDonald’s enjoying a cheeseburger and coffee. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by Gordon’s request. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Holy Cross Cemetery in New Glasgow. In memory of Gordon, donations can be made to a charity of choice. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the RK MacDonald Nursing home in Antigonish who took impeccable of him, especially during his last days with us. angusfuneralhomes.com
