Obituary of Wayne MacDonald

R. Wayne MacDonald age 71 of Woodburn, Pictou Co. passed away on Saturday March 16th ,2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital ,New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow ,he was a son of the late Ellsworth and Mae (MacLaren) MacDonald of Egerton. Wayne was a retired employee of Scott Maritimes . Wayne was one of the founding members of the Pictou County Senior Rugby Club and was inducted into the Pictou County Sports Hall of Fame. Rugby provided Wayne with global travel and lifelong friendships . Wayne enjoyed his many hours spent on the Lady Mae on Northumberland Strait . An avid gardener, his vegetable and flower beds were his pride and joy. Surviving are his wife Charlotte and his sidekick Scooby His siblings ; Lewie (Dorothy) , Roy(Darlene) ,Sheila MacLellan , Vera(Chuck) Roberts , Blake (Terri) ,Glen (Lori) all of Pictou County 30 nieces and nephews , also a sister-in-law Peggy (Ivan) MacLeod of Truro and a brother-in-law Sonny Plumb of Bellville ,Ont. Wayne was predeceased by sisters Brenda Moriarty ,Patsy Smith , Doreen Hill ,Willena MacDonald and a nephew Winston Hill. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and7-9 P.M. on Tuesday in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home ,256 King St. ,New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 A.M. from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church , New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Joon Ki Kim officiating. Spring burial will take in the Garden of Eden Cemetery.
