Obituary of Angus Bruce MacDonald

Angus Bruce MacDonald (62) Cole Harbour, NS It is with profound sadness that we the family of Angus Bruce MacDonald of Cole Harbour, formerly of Lake Ainslie Cape Breton, announce his passing on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in Halifax. Born on September 21, 1956 in Inverness Cape Breton, he was the youngest son of the late Hugh Allan and Lula MacDonald. Angie is survived by his soul mate, his wife of 34 years, Jeannie MacMillan-MacDonald. Angie is also survived by his pride and joy, his daughter Johna. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Chrissie MacMillan (Stellarton), In-laws Agnes and Bob MacDonald(Lorne). His Brothers Neil (Susan), Allan (Karen), and Chris (Patsy). Sister Moriah (Brian). Many nieces, nephews, and very close cousins. He will be missed dearly by his Boston cousins, especially his "Buddy" Salvy and the Bramante family. Angus Bruce leaves behind many close friends who were very dear to him. Angie loved animals, a result of the years spent on the family farm in Lake Ainslie. He would generate his own ‘farm’ on Bradorian Drive, with his special traveling co-Pilot Harlow. Angie was a long time member of St. Andrew’s Dartmouth, as well as a retired member of the Kilted Men’s Choir. Angus was also a very active Cheer Dad, travelling with Johna to all her competitions with Extreme Athletics. Angie worked very hard all his life. A very strong work ethic was instilled in him at an early age by his parents, working on the family farm. When Angie moved to Halifax, he started off sweeping the shop floor and worked very hard to climb up the ladder to become Regional Salesman, Regional Manager, and many other titles in his 35 year career with Associate Industrial Rubber and Stellar Industries. Angie was an avid reader and valued education. He was extremely proud of his daughter, Johna, graduating from St F X and enrolling in the Accelerated Nursing program at Dal. Angie was an exceptional man with deep rooted family values and ties. There was nothing he would not do for his family and friends. He gave so much of himself and asked for nothing in return. Angie spent a lot of time and his fondest memories could be remembered in his Beloved Lake Ainslie, and his trailer on the "Big Hill" in Stirling. Special thanks to the staff of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Service Center Victoria Building, Palliative Care Staff, Nurses and Doctors. A heartfelt thanks to all our friends and family who have been there for us during this very difficult time. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 12-4 on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church Stellarton, followed by the Funeral at 4:00pm with the Rev. Charles McPherson officiating with the Rev. Dr. P.A.
