Beatrice MacDonald passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10th at Glen Haven Manor. She was the eldest daughter of the late Maude and Leo McCarron and was raised in Egerton. Bea’s first job was with Zellers where she worked for forty plus years. Upon retirement, she became Stellarton’s "Bingo Queen", successfully running the town’s bingo operation for many years. Family was important and Bea always kept in touch with the cousins, aunts and uncles. She is survived by her children, Cathy (Neil), Joseph (Cathy), and Darlene (John) and her very special granddaughters Cailin (Alex) and Alexandra. She is also survived by sisters Fran MacDonald and Nora Forsythe(Peter) and brothers Patrick (Carole) and Jerome McCarron; sisters-in-law, Margaret MacNeil and Flo MacDonald; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander, infant son William; brothers William, John Brian and Leo; and sisters Evelyn Helmes and Bernadette Farrell. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held 11am Thursday March 14 from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Fr. Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding. A reception will follow in the Sister Catherine Steele Centre. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or charity of choice.
