Harry William Atwater , 82, of the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou formerly of Sutherland’s River passed away on March 1, 2019. Born, April 1, 1936 in New Glasgow , he was a son of the late Harold and Ada Millie (Patton) Atwater. Harry had been a resident of Sutherland’s River since 1982 having previously resided in Linacy for a number of years. Harry was a former employee with Trenton Works having retired with 42 years service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman . A hardworking man ,Harry was always there for his family and friends when they needed him . He is survived by his wife the former Isabell Crosby ,sons Kenny Atwater of Sutherland’s River ; Harold Atwater of Telford . A brother Doug Atwater of Linacy and a sister Margaret Atwater of British Columba He was predeceased by brothers Kenneth and Alvin Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Monday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be at a later date Donations in his memory may be made to The Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Maritime Oddfellows Home , Pictou.
