February 10, 2019. Scott, Thomas Leslie, 88 of Eureka, Pictou County passed away February 9, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Detroit, Michigan he was a son of the late Charles L. and Vera(Battye)Scott. Tom worked in Construction as a Millwright at various projects across Canada, returning to his family home in Eureka in 1994, after retiring from Ontario Hydro Pickering Nuclear Plant where he was employed for some 14 years. In 1966 he was the founding president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners(Millwrights)Local 1178. In October 2009, he received his 50 year Service Award and Life Time Membership from the Regional Council of Ontario Millwrights, Local 2309. He would refer to himself as a Millwright by trade, and a Cabinet Maker by choice. He loved to dance often being called the "Dancing Man". He was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Weeks Jr. A Crushers and Sunday morning breakfasts at Sharon’s Place in Pictou. He is survived by his children: Kevin(Jane), New Glasgow; Billy, Westville; Heather MacGregor(Bill), Westville; Timothy, Riverton; and Dale, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his former wife Doris(Graham) and his second wife Jean(Gunn), brothers; Wilbert, Roy and Kenneth. His remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday. A public graveside committal service will be held 11am Tuesday in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev.
