Leo Earl Shakness age 57 of Salem Loop passed away Wednesday, Jan 30th, 2019 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow he was a son of Diana (Betts) Shakness and the late Earl Shakness.
Leo was a resident of Salem Loop for the past 13 years and was a carpenter by trade. Leo enjoyed fishing with his buddy Johnny and always had a good sense of humor.
Leo is survived by his mother Diana (Betts) Shakness, also surviving was the love of his life Kathy Kennedy; daughters Amanda, Halifax; Mary, Pictou; brother Robert (Kayla) Shakness, Hopewell; sisters Dawn (Darin) Geddes, Westville; Karen (John) Megeney, Medicine Hat, Alberta:; Kelly Shakness, Trenton; 6 grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and his fur baby Lily.
Leo was predeceased by his father Earl and brother Gregory.
A graveside service will be held in the Mt. William Cemetery 3 P.M. on Wednesday Feb 6th, 2019 with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kwasnik and the nurses of Palliative Care for their care and concern, also to the VON for their care of Leo.
Donations in memory of Leo may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
