Very late but wanted to say so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. I worked with her at The News for 7 years until I left. She attended my wedding and was there to celebrate the birth of my two children and the tree she purchased with my colleagues for my
Wedding is growing strong in my backyard and I think of her often. She was always there in the morning to brighten your day or to share in a laugh or occasionally a curse word when something went wrong or talking about her little dog and what craziness occurred that morning. I would occasionally run into her at Sobeys and she would always give you a big hug. At work she would bring in Gram’s place biscuits and leave on my desk and others just because. She was a great lady and I am sorry I missed saying goodbye. Jennifer Smees (Wittig)

Very belated but nonetheless sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. My wife and I moved to New Glasgow to work with The Evening News. Judy or “Austin” as I called her was the most genuine and welcoming person among the many great people there. We were there in the late 80’s but used to pop into visit anytime we were in the area. She, Marion Heighton and Linda Pellerine (or Pellereinstein as your mother called her) were like 3 angels to us during our first move away from home. Despite the time lapse, our memories of Judy are very vivid and fond. I think all would agree that earned a front row place in heaven. She was a gem! Kent MacPhee, Cornwall PEI.
