Obituary of Virginia Cameron

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia Maria (Manzi) Cameron August 2, 1926 – December 23, 2018 Heaven gained another angel on December 23, 2018 when Virginia Cameron, surrounded by her family, left this earth to join her soul mate and husband of 71 years. Virginia was a war bride who came to Canada in 1946 (via Pier 21) to join her husband Harold, to start their wonderful life together. It was a true love story that was shared and admired by many. She bravely left her home in England (as a young girl) to start her own family in a new country… and she loved her family fiercely. She was proud of every member of her family, and she loved to cook for them and show them off to her friends. She was energetic with a wonderful spirit, and she loved to sing, dance, cook, garden and paint. Her rock garden in McPherson’s Mills was the envy of all the neighbours. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister. She leaves behind her brother Bonny (Susan) Manzi, daughters Pamela (Robert) Campbell, Wendy (Rod) McCarthy, Angela (Lloyd) MacGregor, son David (Diane) Cameron, grandchildren Gina, Gillian, Erin, Amelia, Maggie, Mark, Luke, Christopher, Maria, David, Ryan, and great grandchildren Cameron, Owen, Jack, James, Max, Blake, Ailish, Finley, Mack, Laura, David, Eric and Avery. She also left behind her sister-in-law and special friend Elizabeth MacDougall. She was pre-deceased by mother Amelia and father Felix and sisters Marie (Fred) Ford and Rita (Chris) Danielsen. Our family would like to thank her daughter Wendy and caregiver Helen for the tremendous 24-hour care they have provided over the past few years. Helen was a special angel sent to us and will always be a part of our family. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of 8.3 QEII (and a special thank you to Dr. Burton and Dr. Goth) who gave our family such loving support over the last five weeks. In memory of Virginia, donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis CFIT Research Canada in honour of her great grandson, Blake Brien. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 28 from 6pm-8pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home on King Street in New Glasgow, and the funeral will take place on Saturday, December 29 at 11am at the same location. A reception will follow the funeral, and a private burial will take place at MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
