Obituary of Ernest R. MacDonald

Ernest "Ernie" Roderick MacDonald age 70, of Eureka passed away on December 12, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Edison and Sheila (Lamden) MacDonald.
Ernie worked as a welder at Trenton Works and later went to work in Ontario. He also worked with Hoyt’s Moving and Storage. He enjoyed the outdoors especially time spent fishing. He looked forward to his annual trip to Cuba and treasured time spent with his grandchildren. Ernie was an avid Maple Leaf’s and Blue Jays fan.
He is survived by the love of his life Faye Langille, Eureka; children Shannon (Glen) Morris, Brampton, ON; Paul MacDonald, MacLellan’s Mountain; Amanda (Matthew) Ryan, Stellarton; Courtney Langille (Trenton Ferguson), Wainwright, AB; 12 grandchildren; brothers Shawn MacDonald, MacLellan’s Brook; Edison Jr. (Jan) MacDonald, Mission, BC; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Castle Hill Cemeteryat a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
