Westville: Elizabeth (Sue) Smith , with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Susie in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital on Monday October 1 ,2018. Born in New Glasgow in May 1940 ,she was the daughter of the late Mr. &Mrs. George MacPherson of New Glasgow. Sue had many friends and she loved visiting them ,if just to have a cup of tea or enjoy a game of cards. She was a former employee of Zellers Ltd. having to retire due to poor health. Sue married her late husband Brain in 1962. As Brian was a longtime member of the Armed Forces , they spent many years moving throughout Canada and even spent time in Germany and Egypt. She is survived by her sons Brian (Westville) and Steven (Halifax) and grandson David (Stellarton) also surviving are her brothers Fred (Peggy) MacLellan’s Brook , Gerald (Jane) Churchville and Donald (Margie) New Glasgow and a sister Laura Robertson (Antigonish) She was predeceased by her husband Brian and daughter Cheryl ,sister Marilyn ,brothers Miller ,Wayne and Fraser. Sue’s remains have been cremated and at her request there will be no visitation .Burial of Ashes will take place at a later date. Sue’s family would like to express their gratitude to the many people who tended her during her difficult times. Dr Kwasnick and staff in the Palliative Care Unit , Dr Craig ,Alice and others in the Oncology Treatment , Emergency staff under Heather and Dr. Straub . Also to Dr. Aaron Smith for his kindness and caring during her illness.
