Obituary of Jessie Stewart

Jessie "Isabel" Stewart, passed away on Sept. 25, 2018 in the Valley View Villa, Riverton. Born on September 12, 1923, in Stellarton, she was the daughter of the late David and Hazel (Osborne) Semple. She was a resident of Stellarton all of her life. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Isabel was a homemaker for many years and worked at Clairtone for a short time. Mom volunteered at the preschool at Sharon Church and as a result decided to become a Child Development Services Associate through the Nova Scotia Teachers College. She travelled to the United Kingdom in June, 1977 and was very proud to receive her Level III Accreditation Certificate. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her very dear friends. Isabel was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton. She is survived by sons Harvey (Carole), Dartmouth; Robert (Toni), Ottawa; Peter (Donna), River John; Eddie (Penny), Stellarton; daughters Joyce (Alan) Fraser, Westville; and Nicole (Dave) Walsh, Fraser’s Mountain; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Gwen Cornwall, Joan Kendall both of Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband John Robert "Bob"; brothers Harvey, Samuel, Arthur, Edwin, David, Gordon, Raymond and Howard in infancy; sisters Ola, Lillian, Hazel, Georgie, Mary and Margaret in infancy. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, September 28 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 29 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery. Family flowers only.
