Obituary of Allan MacDonald

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth Allan MacDonald (known to his friends as "Butler"), an inspired and respected local artist, a sweet and gentle man. He was the devoted youngest son of E. Brundage MacDonald and the late Ella E. MacDonald. Allan was born in New Glasgow on September 25, 1951 to the delight of big brother Gordon (Veronica), New Glasgow and his dear sister Karen (Cornelius Mouris), Moncton, NB. He is also survived by Sandra Guadagni, his loving partner of 18 years and proud supporter of all his endeavours; beloved daughter and his pride and joy Katy (Shane) Blackwater, ON; Nola Livingstone (mother of Katy) former wife and life-long friend, Toronto, ON. Dear to his heart are grandchildren Liam, Malcolm and Kenzie. Allan took great pleasure and interest in all his nieces and nephews: Melissa (Christoph); grand-nephew Vincent; Gordie (Chrissie), grand-nieces Ella and Zoe; Heidi (Adam), Charles (Darlene); loving Aunt Dianne (Ron) Arsenault, Eastern Passage, NS. Pre-deceased by mother Ella. The family will receive visitors from 2-3 P.M. on Saturday Sept 1 in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home ,256 King St. New Glasgow followed by a memorial service at 3 P.M. with Pastor Leon Teal officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the incredible Palliative Care Staff and Dr. Anne Kwasnik for their tender and compassionate care of Allan and their kind sensitivity to our family. You were an amazing comfort to us all. Donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
