James A. Baxter, of Maple Street, Stellarton passed away suddenly on August 20, 2018 at home. Born May 9, 1943 he was a son of the late James A. and Jean Hyacinth (Chapman) Baxter Jim was a longtime resident of Stellarton. He was a member of Branch No. 28 Royal Canadian Legion, Stellarton, member of the Black Watch and former member of Airforce Club, 110 Wing, Stellarton. He worked for Hawker Siddeley Ltd., and Trenton Works until his retirement. Jim enjoyed building his cottage with his wife Bonnie at Lochaber Lake where he spent a lot of time hunting and fishing over the years He is survived by his children Cindy Martin, Plymouth; Caroll MacKinnon, Westville; Chrystal Baxter (Richie), MacLellan’s Brook; Jim, Oyster Pond Musquodoboit; grandchildren Ryan (Tiffany), Evan (Kelly) and Olivia MacKinnon. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Bonnie (MacKay), son-in-laws Wayne Martin and Blair MacKinnon. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton from where funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 24, 2018. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
