Obituary of Sterling George Purvis

Sterling George "Dick" Purvis age 79 of Glenelg, passed away on August 18, 2018 at home. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late William and Catherine (Yerxa) Purvis.
Dick had been a resident of Glenelg since 2000. He was a retired employee of Hawker Siddeley, Ltd., Trenton. He was an avid fisherman and Toronto Blue Jays fan.
He is survived by his children Carol Chabassol, spouse of B. Chabassol; Beatrice (Stephen) Cowan; Ritchie (Jennifer) Purvis; grandchildren Alicia Cowan, Samantha Cowan, Susan Chabassol, Kowisha Chabassol, Carlyn Purvis, Garyn Purvis, and Sophia Marshall; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Beatrice "Betty" Purvis; Shirley Snell; Wilbur "Moon" Purvis; Roy (June) and Graham Purvis; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation.
