Ruth Martha(Isaac)Stevens October 22, 1929 - July 13, 2018 Stevens, Ruth Martha (Isaac), of the Glen Haven Manor, formerly of 209 Sanborne Street, New Glasgow passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13th, 2018, which would have been her husband's 86th birthday. Born and in Halifax on October 22, 1929 to the late George and Dawia (Amyoony) Isaac, Ruth spent most of her married life in New Glasgow except for a brief move to Montreal, QC in the early 80's. Ruth attended Halifax Business College and was an employee of Maritime Command before becoming a homemaker and mother to Allyson and Jamie, her cherished children. Ruth was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting with oils in particular. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading in her gazebo. Ruth volunteered at the Good Shepherd lunch room. Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Jim (James Gerow Stevens II) Ruth is survived by her children: a daughter, Allyson (David) Wheadon, New Glasgow ; son, James (Jamie) Gerow (Cindy) Stevens, Mississauga; four grandchildren: Nicole (James) Cooley of New Glasgow; Darryl Wheadon of New Glasgow; Katie Stevens of Mississauga; James Stevens of Halifax; great- grand-daughter, Sienna Cooley of New Glasgow; sisters: Bernice (James) McCombie of Los Angeles; Lorraine (Glen) Urquhart of Victoria, BC. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Jim(James Gerow Stevens II), sisters Naza and Doris; brothers Joe, George and Leo. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Tuesday, July 17th at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 112 North Foord Street, Stellarton, with Father Barret Claire-Johnson presiding. A reception will follow the service in the Sister Catherine Steele Centre. Burial will take place at a later date in the Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Glen Haven Manor Recreation Fund, 739 E.
