Calvin William Cameron age 88 of Coalburn passed away on Thursday June 28, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in MacPherson’s Mills he was a son of the late Robert and Margaret (Miller) Cameron.
Calvin worked for 35 years in various coal mines, including the Greenwood, MacBean and Allan Shafts. Calvin’s greatest joy in life was his family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years Maude Catherine (Morrison), a son Robert (Karen) Cameron, Thorburn; a daughter Catherine Ann(Allen)Stroud, Foster Avenue, Stellarton; brothers: Lawrence and Morris both of Ontario; grandchildren: Robin Curtis, Laura Keough, Justin Cameron and Jana Cameron; step- grandsons: Tyson and Sean Duggan, great- grandchildren: Marcus, Aiden, Austin, Chloe, Calvin, Hunter and Madelyn.
Several nieces and nephews, and a chosen daughter Alice Connors.
Calvin was predeceased by brothers Nyles, Roy, Bernie, Lyons sisters: Mary, Melva, Katherine and Ida.
His remains will rest in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home for visitation from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday.
Funeral Service will be held 2pm Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Calvin may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
