June 20, 2018. MacLeod, Alexander MacGillvray "Alex", 84 of Stellarton passed away June 19, 2018 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Mountville, Pictou County he was a son of the late Dan and Ida(Fraser)MacLeod. Alex resided in Stellarton for the past 59 years. He worked for many years in Construction as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, later going on to work as a School Bus Driver up until his retirement. He was an avid gardener, having sold vegetables throughout the county. He and Jean loved to travel to PEI on their annual family camping trips for over 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife the former Jean(Hood), Stellarton; a daughter Glenda MacLeod(John Basker), New Glasgow; sons: Bradford(Kelly), Stellarton; Randy(Vanessa), MacPherson Mills; grandchildren: Andrew MacLeod, Tracey MacLeod, Cain Munroe, Trevor Munroe(Keneen), Bradford MacLeod, Moriah MacLeod, Eric MacLeod, Lauren MacLeod, Matthew MacLeod, 2great-grandchildren: Josie and Morgan MacLeod, a brother Fraser MacLeod(Lorraine), Trenton; a sister Janet Pauley, Pugwash; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Norman and Edward, a sister Beulah. His remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday from where funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday with Pastor Ryan King presiding. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Castle Hill Cemetery, Maclellan’s Brook. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Alex may be made to the VON, Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital, or to a charity of one’s choice. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
