Obituary of Emily Bezanson

New Glasgow; Emily Elizabeth Bezanson age 65 of New Glasgow and formerly of Eureka passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Mason) Gammon. Emily was a long time resident of Eureka before moving to New Glasgow. Emily enjoyed knitting, especially things for her grandchildren, she also enjoyed crocheting and feeding the hummingbirds. Pickling and preserving vegetables from her garden and sharing the harvest was something Emily was known for. Family was the most important thing in her life especially when it came to her grandchildren. Surviving are sons, John (Lisa) Bezanson of Eureka, Allen Bezanson of Westville; Grandchildren, Sophia and Jacob; Sisters, Helen(Nellie) Cyr of Westville, Clara (Reid) MacCormack of Salisbury, New Brunswick foster brother, Alvin Desveaux of Dartmouth, an aunt Stella Gammon of Truro, sister-in-law Marlene Tracey of Edmonton, Alberta, chosen sister Louise (Lulu) Dobbin of Dartmouth, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Bezanson. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. on Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 P.M. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Abercrombie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Emily to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. A reception will follow in the Eureka Fire Hall .
