McInnis, Oliver Earl, 86 of Stellarton passed away May 17, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his loving children.
Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Alphonse and Margaret(McInnis)McInnis.
He was a member of the Black Watch and worked at the former Hawker Siddeley/Trenton Works until his retirement.
In his early years he loved fishing and walks along the East River. He had a great memory of his childhood, growing up on Prince Edward Island in South Port, and loved sharing these stories with his pride and joy, his grandchildren, who thought the world of him.
He will be sincerely and dearly missed by his children: Ollie(Peter)Kontuk, Stellarton; Henry(Shari)McInnis, Lyons Brook; Michael McInnis, Linacy; Margaret McInnis, Stellarton; grandchildren: Tim and Matthew Kontuk, Brandon, Jerrod, and Mitchell McInnis, Keith, Ryan, Julia McInnis and Hannah McInnis, great-grandchildren :Leland, Lucas, Keagan and Liam, a sister Jean MacGillivray, New Glasgow; children: Steven MacInnes, Ontario; and Dawn Cross Woodman, Halifax; from a previous marriage, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Joan Frances(Marcott)McInnis, a son in infancy, a grandson in infancy, James, brothers: Ronnie and Eugene McInnis, New Glasgow; children: Earl McInnis and Margaret Tucker, mother and father-in-law Anthony and Molly (MacPherson)Marcott, Stellarton.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation or services by request. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton.
