Wayte, Donald Richard- With deep sorrow & sadness we annouce the passing of Donald Richard Wayte of New Glasgow which occurred at home on Saturday, May 12, 2018. at the age of 79. Born in Debert, N.S. he was the eldest son of the late Richard & Connie(Barley) Wayte. Don was employed at T.S. Pattillo Company, Household Finance and in 1968 he became self employed in the collection business from which he retired in 2002. Don was a Cub Leader at the l3th.New Glasgow troop for several years, he enjoyed camping with his family & he liked working around his house & yard. Left to mourn his loss is his wife & best friend of 54 years Heather(MacKay),sons: Kevin, Cole Harbour,NS. and Jason, Alma,N.S; his precious grandchildren Ethan & Ivy, daughter-in-law, Monique, sisters-in-law Linda & her husband Lyn Lauber. Airdrie. Alberta; Janice Wayte, Salmon River Road, Truro; a niece, a nephew,,several cousins, and special cousin, Stan Porter(Phyllis)PEI. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his only brother, Bob, in 1992, Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2 PM Thursday at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 PM with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson presiding. A reception to follow the service in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Robie Street Cemetery, Truro later in the day. Family flowers only. To honor his generous heart, in lieu of flowers, donations in Don's memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity close to your own heart. www.angusfuneralhomes.com Rest in peace, my love
