Obituary of Donald Fraser

Donald "Scott" Fraser age 90, of Sherbrooke passed away on April 18, 2018 in High Crest Nursing Home Sherbrooke.
Born on June 2, 1927 he was raised by Edwin and Elizabeth (MacMillan) Fraser.
Scott was a resident of Sherbrooke all his life where he owned and operated Sherbrooke Garage since 1958. He was a member, elder and served as clerk of session at St. John’s United Church, Sherbrooke, served as the chairman of the St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital for some 20 years, was one of the founding members of the Down East Volunteer Fire Department (Now Sherbrooke & Area Fire Department). Scott loved the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and spending time driving his Model A. He was very active in Queens Masonic Lodge, a charter member of the St. Mary’s & District Lion’s Club and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Sherbrooke. Scott also loved to attend the card parties.
Scott is survived by his wife Violet (Archibald) of 68 years, he is also survived by 3 sons Donnie (Norah), Chris (Krista), Charles (Maureen) all of Sherbrooke; 7 grandchildren Rachel Fraser (Chris MacDonald), Ian (Marian) Fraser; Aaron (Astra) Fraser, Heidi Fraser (Kris MacDonald), Christopher Fraser, Matthew (Emily) Fraser, Kelley Fraser (Bonnie MacDonald), 7 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter Darlene and a daughter in infancy.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday April 20, 2018 in St. John’s United Church, Sherbrooke from where a memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 with Rev. Derek Elsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke.
Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
