Westville Rd.: Edith Vinten Cavanaugh age 93 of Westville Rd. Pictou County passed away on Sunday April 15th ,2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital ,New Glasgow . Born in Isaac’s Harbour , she was a daughter of the late William John Gordon and Lucy (Vinten) Sinclair . Edith was a resident of Westville Rd. since 1988 , prior to which she resided in Truro for a number of years. She operated the New to You Book Store in Truro for a number of years and also worked in nursing homes and motels in that area. Edith was a member of the Pictou County Arts and Crafts Association . surviving are a daughter Sandra (Bruce) MacKay of Westville Rd. grandchildren Kevin Bell and Loretta Bell brothers; Marshall Sinclair of Truro and Alvin Sinclair of Abercrombie sisters; Elizabeth (Anthony) Smediale of Melford ,Sask. Fanny (Robert) Porter of Abercrombie she was predeceased by her first husband James Wilfred Hanham , second husband Ira J. Cavanaugh ,daughter Shirley Haggart , son Richard Hanham , brothers Bill and George . Cremation has taken place , a public graveside service will be held in the Abercrombie Cemetery on Friday April 20th at 11 A.M. with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating . Donations in memory of Edith may be made to the I.W.K. Hospital . Arrangements have been entrusted to the H.W.Angus Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to angusfuneral@ns.sympatico.ca
