McCulloch, Harold Frederick, 80 passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday April 12, 2018.
Born in Sydney he was a son of the late Cecil and Patricia McCulloch. He graduated from King’s Edgehill school in Windsor.
"Hal" is probably best known for operating HF McCulloch Clothing in downtown New Glasgow in the 1970’s which he took over from his father AC McCulloch. Hal was a born salesman and loved interacting with his customers. Later in life and after some health issues, Hal found new life in the local flea market where he could be seen every Sunday up until his death. He made his daily rounds at the local Frenchy’s, Louis and Value Village, where he found his many "treasures". Hal enjoyed his many memorable trips to Lawlors Lake(Dunwurkin) and later to his Lundy camp along with his many great friends as well as many others who were lucky to make the trips with him. Hal lived a great life, had a wonderful sense of humour, and will be missed by many who enjoyed chatting with him over a "cold one. Hal recently celebrated 60 years of marriage with the love of his life Helen who survives him along with son Cecil and daughters Angela and Patti. He is also survived by grandchildren, Sylvia, TJ, Kyler, Paige, Brady and Carter along with many close nieces and nephews.
Hal was predeceased by his son Hal Jr. who is showing the path to heaven along with his beloved Maltese "Hallee". He was also predeceased by his parents A. Cecil and Patricia McCulloch as well as his birth parents William and Emily Pushie, his son-in-law Greg White, a brother Ray, and sisters, Lois, Joyce and Claire.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where a memorial service will be held 11am Tuesday with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook presiding. A reception will follow the service. A private family burial will take place following the reception in the Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
