March 28, 2018. Callahan, Ella(MacNeil)- It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our precious Ella on March 27, 2018. Born in New Glasgow on January 4, 1946 she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Bertha(Betts)MacNeil. Over the years Ella was employed at Clairtone, MacGregor Bedding, and later retiring from Michelin Tire after 34 years. Ella is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Wayne Callahan, sisters: Norma MacKenzie, New Glasgow; Mary(Reg)Jorden, Scotsburn; brothers: Newman(carol), Halifax; Anthony(Carol), Hamilton, Ontario; sisters-in-law Fayne, Hamilton, Ontario; Linda Callahan, New Glasgow; Sharron(George)Gunton, Ontario; brother-in-law Roger Callahan, New Glasgow; numerous nieces and nephews, great-neices and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Ella was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Bertha MacNeil, sisters: Kay Hill, Bernice Duff, and a sister in infancy, brothers: Bernie, Frank, his wife Nilda, mother and father in- laws John and Irene Callahan, brother-in-law Johnny Callahan, a sister-in-law Marg and her husband Jim Chambers, nephews: Kevin MacNeil, Greg Chambers, John Paul MacNeil, Eddie Duff, nieces: Brenda MacKenzie and Sharron Hill. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or services by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation. My Angel My heart is full of memories, With pride I speak your name. Though life goes on without you It will never be the same.
