Vinie Margaret Fraser age 89 of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Thorburn passed away on March 12, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Thorburn she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine (MacDonald) Flynn.
Vinie was a long-time resident of Thorburn where she was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Home Helpers for the AMS , member of Dorcas Rebekah Lodge and former CGIT Leader.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her sons Wayne, Lower Sackville; John "Jack" (Brenda), Eden Lake; James (Nancy), Thorburn; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren
She was predeceased by her husband Douglas, granddaughter Shannon, daughter-in-law Margaret, sister Mary, brothers Garrett, Robert and Sandy.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, March 16, 2018. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday March 17, 2018 in Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn with Debbie Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to "Shannon’s Sneakers" which was created to honor the memory of her granddaughter Shannon. Shannon’s Sneakers are given to students to encourage youth to "Move Live and Play" or a charity of your choice.
