MEYER, Teunesje "Tilly" (Van Holland), Bridgeville, aged 94 years, passed away peacefully in the Aberdeen Hospital on March 7, 2018. Born on September 3, 1923 in Iowa USA, she was the daughter of Gerrit Jan and Geertrui Van Holland. Tilly immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1952 with her husband and family. She was a loving wife and mother and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Tilly was predeceased by her devoted husband Gysbertus "Gys", daughters Rev. Trudy Meyer and Wilma Van de Pol; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 7 siblings, Netherlands. She is survived by 6 children, Maria(Hank)Veenhuis, Union Centre; Tilly(Don)Fraser, Lacombe; Gerda(Rijk)Boon, Netherlands; William(Carol)Meyer, Bridgeville; John(Bahy)Meyer, Ottawa; Bert(Heidi)Meyer, Springville; son-in-law Albert Van de Pol, Mount William; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren; sister Willempje, brother Jan, sister-laws, Evertje "Eef" and Hendrikje "Hennie" in the Netherlands. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 12 at 2 pm in the H W Angus Funeral Home New Glasgow with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. The family will receive friends informally from 12:30 until the time of the service at 2 pm on Monday. Private family burial will be in the Springville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
