Emond, Michael Cyril, 66 of New Glasgow passed away February 13, 2018 at the QE11 Health Sciences Center, VG site Halifax.
Born in Windsor, Ontario he was a son of the late Ernie and Aletha Rose(Boudreau)Emond.
Mike was a resident of New Glasgow for many years. He was employed with the Brick Furniture store and the former Schwartz Furniture for the past several years. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman, enjoying time spent with his friends, most notably Brian Purchase and Lee Maclean.
He is survived by his wife Ursula and her children Cristle and Rebeccah; his children Derek, North Sydney; Tammy(Ron)Dougherty, St. John, NB; Shannon, St. John, NB; grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, Rylee, Taylor, Courtney, Bradley, Madison, Shane, Haley, Hunter, Riley and Heaven; brothers: Gerry, Kentucky; Andy, Michigan; Joe, Fort MacMurray; a sister Colette, Windsor, Ontario; several nieces and nephew, and special thanks to his best friends Basil and Cathy for all their help and kindness shown to Mike, and always being there.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors from 6-9pm Saturday at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Donations in memory of Mike may be made to the IWK Hospital for sick children.
