Obituary of Donald Macleod

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donald Edgar MacLeod On February 5, 2018, Don MacLeod left this world a littler better than he found it. He was born on November 23, 1927 and lived in Pictou County his entire life. He worked at the Pictou Shipyard during WWII, then as a plumber and heating technician for Hayman’s Hardware in Stellarton, NS. A short time later he opened his own business MacLeod Plumbing and Heating, which was a great success for over 40 years. He spent the last few years of his working career with MacKay Meters in Abercrombie, NS. He only knew how to do things one way – the right way – and had a kind word for everyone he met. He was able to find good in everyone. He was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, NS and a member of Albion Lodge #5 AF&AM (serving as WM and DDGM) for 68 years. He was predeceased by his father Colin and mother Maie (MacDonald). He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Evelyn, three children Karen, Kevin, and Lonny, and beloved grandchildren Alexandra and Taylor. Cremation to take place. Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Internment will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in his name to either the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Pictou County SPCA. angusfuneralhomes.com
