Betty was born in Riverview, Cumberland County and spent almost her entire life first in Hopewell and later in Riverton. She was a devoted wife and mother. Following graduation from Business College, Betty was employed with the Department of Highways and later became a Motor Vehicle Examiner with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Her three children were the centre of her universe and she committed her life to their well being. She attended every basketball game, 4-H show, Highland Dance competition, pageants and school performances, she was in the front row cheering her children on.
