James Thomas McGrath Obituary

McGrath, James Thomas, 59 of Cambridge, Ontario formerly of Aspen, Guysborough County passed away peacefully on December 10, 2017 at Grand River Hospital, Freeport site. He was the son of the late Fraser and Lois (Jordan) McGrath. James was employed in construction with Bel-Air Excavating & Grading Ltd. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 126 in Preston, Ontario. Survived by children Jonathan, Nicholas, and Stephanie and several grandchildren. Sisters Mary Haggart, Ontario, Jean (John) Simms, Sherbrooke, Margaret, Glenelg, Erma Bowles, Springfield, Agnes (John) Archibald, Newtown, Minnie (Russell) MacLaughlin, Glenelg, Brothers, Chester, Antigonish, Lloyd (Cindy) MacGrath, Melrose, and sister-in-law, Jo-Ann MacGrath, Aspen.


Predeceased by brothers Ellis, Charles, Robert, John, Thomas, and sister Mary in infancy. Also, sisters-in-law Marita and Weenie, brothers-in-law Russell and Donald. Special thanks to Francis Jordan (uncle), and Becky Jones-King (special friend) for all they have done and being such great friends to James.


Cremation has taken place. Graveside Committal Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017at Evergreen Cemetery, Aspen with Reverend Derek Elsworth officiating. Donations can be made to Evergreen Cemetery in James’ memory. Lunch to follow at Kirk Memorial Church following the service.
