Obituary of Siegfried Ehrenfeld

Siegfried (Sigi) Ehrenfeld, age 86 of Central West River passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on Monday, November 6th, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Sigi was born, August 13, 1931 in Bleiburg, Cartinthia, Austria , the son of the late Karl and Maria Ehrenfeldner. Sigi will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years Christine, son Harold Fraser (Geraldine) of Thorburn, sisters Else Meridth of Ireland; Charlotte Baxter of Scotland, Herriette Farrell of England; and Adelheid Ehrenfeldner of Austria, son-in-law Robert MacGillivray of Thorburn, grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Sigi loved travelling in his earlier years. Sigi was an Industrial Arts teacher in Montreal and Stellarton, prior to opening Sigi’s Auto Service in 1971 in Central West River. Upon retirement Sigi could be seen helping the kids on Saturday mornings at the Heather Bowling Lanes, hanging with the guys at John’s Country Canteen in the mornings then heading to his garage to oversee day to day operations. Sigi loved fishing and hunting. Sigi always showed kindness and lent a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Karl and Helmut, sister Hermine, daughter Evelyn(Lynn) MacGillivray, grandson Troy Fraser and great grandson Drew Willard. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1 P.M. with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery.
