Stellarton : Gene Elizabeth Heighton age 68 of Stellarton passed away on Monday October 30th ,2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital ,New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow , she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Georgina (Dunbar) MacKenzie.
Gene was a member of Sharon St. John United Church . She loved her time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter : Terry (Greg) McChesney of Stellarton
Grandchildren Tegan and Graylyn McChesney
Brothers: Garfield MacKenzie of Riverton
Ronnie (Jean) MacKenzie of Glengarry
Darrell (Betty) MacKenzie of Winnipeg
Several nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband Terry , sisters Phyllis Snyder , Marjorie MacDonald , Marion and Phyllis
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors from 6-9 P.M. on Thursday in the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel ,Stellarton.
Funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 A.M. from the Sharon St. John United Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Schaffner officiating .
Burial will be in the Abercrombie Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to Ronald MacDonald House or The Lodge That Gives , Halifax.
