Daniel Wilfred Paul age 68 of Pictou Landing First Nation passed away September 26, 2017 at home. Born in Truro he was a son of the late James and Mary Jean (Prosper) Paul. Daniel was a resident of Pictou Landing all his life where he was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Daniel was a survivor of the Residential School in Shubenacadie. He is survived by nieces and nephews Pamela (Derek) Francis, Bev (Wayne) Denny, Shannon (Adam) Paul, Dion (Jennifer) Paul, Sheldon (Jillian) Paul, all of Pictou Landing; Jason Paul, Trenton; Christopher Paul, Ontario and Alisha Moors, Dartmouth; great-nieces and nephews Farrah, Tyra, Bryden, Devon, Brody, Adrienne, Taylor, Derek "Jij", James, Candace, Tracey, Wayne "Jij", Calvin, Sheldon Jay, Marlee, and Tatum; Godchild Walter Prosper, Pictou Landing. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Fred and Howard; sisters Sarah and Mary Agnes; great-nephew Adam "Jij" Paul. His remains will rest in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Pictou Landing First Nation after 7 pm on Thursday, September 28, 2017 where mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 30, 2017 with Father Tom MacNeil presiding.
